▶ How long you have been cross-dressing: My journey with crossdressing started when I was little, just like others on and off for years, but it became a bigger passion about three years ago.

That’s when I went all-in, getting serious about wigs, dresses, makeup, accessories, nails, shapewear, and of course, expanding my collection of heels and lingerie. Now, I have a closet full of women’s clothing, and it shows no signs of stopping!.



▶ What’s your favorite thing about dressing up: It reminds me of the childhood joy of disguising yourself as a superhero and playing as someone else entirely. In my case nowadays, that character is a woman. I love having the opportunity to be a lady sometimes—to feel feminine, sexy, and to indulge in all things girly.

The best part is the incredible variety of “costumes.” There’s so much fun in choosing dresses, playing with colors, experimenting with wigs and makeup, and accessorizing with nails, heels, and purses. The possibilities are truly endless. This transformation allows me to become Tanya: a playful, confident, sexy, and wonderfully quirky woman..



▶ Things you can’t dress up without: It’s everything. Just as starter, heels, which I still see as one of the most quintessentially feminine items and the very thing that hooked me. Then I added nylons, and lingerie.

Now my essentials include wigs, a full face makeup, shapewear, nails, and accessories—Lately I’ve been having a weakness for anklets. When I transform into Tanya, I commit completely. I don’t believe in doing things halfway; it’s all about the full, head-to-toe experience.

▶ Reason you like to crossdress: Whenever I see feminine women anywhere I love how they look, how they walk, talk and compose. How they put statement outfits together. I admire that a lot. So much that I want to copy that for myself. It an homage to feminine woman to become one of them for a while.I truly enjoy exploring my feminine side and embracing the feeling of becoming a sexy, confident woman. I always try to do my best every time I dress up. Even when it’s just for a few hours, I am committed to going all the way—immersing myself in the feminine experience, from how I feel to how I act.



I practice moving and posing femininely, and now I’m starting to go out and simply enjoy my femme time. All that makes me super happy. And when I see the woman in the mirror looking back at me, its a mesmerizing happy feeling I can’t live without.

▶ Things you like to do after getting dressed: : Like almost everyone, I start with taking hundreds of pictures. Now that I’ve become more confident, I absolutely love spending some time out, whether it’s having a cocktail or just strolling through a park.I first tried going out about two years ago, but I was so nervous that I didn’t enjoy it much. When I tried again almost a year later, I had the best night ever—I danced, sang, and had a few cocktails. Now, going out has become an essential part of the experience for me. I can’t always do it, but I certainly try to go out whenever I’m dressed.



▶ Your favorite outfits/style: I love to show off my legs, so mini dresses and short skirts make up about 95% of my wardrobe. I’ve also recently started buying tight pants, like leather leggings, and I’m really enjoying them. Even though I’m a tall girl, I feel my outfit is incomplete without heels—and don’t even get me started on my love for knee-high boots!My style is primarily sexy, club-inspired outfits. However, as I’ve started going out more frequently, I’ve learned to tone it down a bit. While I do enjoy a bit of attention, I also believe in dressing appropriately for the occasion, which isn’t always a club.



▶ Where do you buy your clothes/makeup/shoes from:  I started by getting my first dresses and heels from discount stores. I can still remember trying them on super quickly just in front of the closest mirror I could find. Nowadays, I shop for almost everything online—shoes, makeup, dresses, and accessories.

The choices are endless! I’ve gotten caught up in shopping sprees more than once. I have figured out about my sizes from different brands and fabrics. And there’s almost always a way to return them if the fit doesn’t work. I still buy some things in stores, but now I take my time to make sure everything fits me right.



▶ How long does it take you to to do your make-up and get ready: While I can do it in under an hour if needed, I prefer not to rush. For me, the process is a ritual—I love taking my time, being delicate and precise. I enjoy sipping a glass of wine and dancing by myself as I get ready.That’s why I normally take a couple of hours for the full transformation. I also like to have two or three different outfits in hand to try different combinations. If I have the extra half-hour for that, I’ll always take it.



▶ What are the challenges you have faced as a crossdresser: My biggest challenge was just getting outside. The first time I went out, I was too nervous to even enjoy it. I’d get all flushed and sweaty—partly from nerves, and partly because once I’m fully dressed with the wig and everything, I just get hot! So managing that is a thing.

On top of that, using my voice has been a whole other challenge. Speaking in a way that feels right when I’m Tanya is still one of the trickiest parts of the whole transformation. My other biggest challenge—and my ultimate dream—is to spend an entire week, or even a month, living as Tanya.I would absolutely love that and I look forward to finding the right time and place to make it happen. The challenge, of course, is that I still have my everyday life, which is what funds this wonderful journey. As you can see, making this dream a reality is a whole different challenge, but one I’m determined to overcome.

▶ What are the challenges you have faced as a crossdresser: The fear of being discovered, the stigma, and the possible rejection from people in my family, friends, work, etc. Of course, I’ve had to learn many things about fashion, makeup, etc. that weren’t part of my male lifestyle.

▶ How long you have been cross-dressing: I remember my first experience being when I was 4. It then lay dormant till my early teens. I then used to dress on and off until my mid 20s, when I finally decided to embrace Crossdressing as a part of me I should not shun. This was after years of denial and cycle of purging.



▶ What’s your favorite thing about dressing up: I would say being able to express my femininity in a positive way, feeling and looking good. Something which I don’t necessarily always derive from regular life and my normal skin so to speak. I suppose I’m hooked on the transformation of going from an average looking male to an attractive and hopefully somewhat convincing looking girl.▶ Things you can’t dress up without: For me its definitely a good wig or hair. Its amazing the instant transformation you see when you apply a wig just after you finish your makeup. A good pair of boots/heels is a must for me too.



▶ Reason you crossdress: Its an extension of my personality, femininity and sometimes daring nature. Raven is often more sexually adventurous than my male self is and from an ego point of view it is somewhat gratifying when you feel desired and admired. I also feel like I can express my femininity more freely and the ‘shackles of regular life’ are off so to speak.

▶ Things you like doing after getting dressed: I love my makeovers and nights out which I’m sure anyone who sees my Insta page will be well aware of! But I also hope to be able to get to non trans and LGBTQ events a bit more in the future when dressed up e.g. gigs, days out etc. Im even looking at a holiday abroad next year where I can let Raven out and dress.



▶ Your favorite outfits/style: Primarily a goth glam look with lots of PVC and leather. Love my short tight dresses, two piece outfits and thigh boots too. Although I’m having to be a bit more selective with my outfits as I don’t have the same figure today I had 7-8 years ago sadly! I am looking to experiment and lean into the goth look a bit more and also trying different hairstyles and makeup too.▶ Where do you buy your clothes/makeup/shoes from: Its a mix really. Some amazing things can be found on Temu, Amazon, Shein etc. However I’ve discovered an amazing site called Mudsweet based in the US which makes some fantastic outfits for those who like a goth style and vibe. I have ordered several things off there in recent months and I can imagine there will be plenty more things I will be buying too.

▶ How long does it take you to to do your make-up and get ready: I would say around 1.5 – 2 hours. Makeup takes the longest time, usually around 50 mins – 1 hour depending on what look I’m going for (eye makeup has never been my strong point so its normally that which accounts for most of the time) Then applying false nails, selecting outfits and footwear. Of course if I am going out and not just dressing for my own pleasure, it may take a bit longer to look my best..



▶ What are the challenges you have faced as a crossdresser: I think for myself, its adapting my look with my age. I realise that I may not look as good as I did say 10 years ago but its constantly reinventing and trying different things. I think also dealing with prejudices is a challenge.

Unfortunately from a political point of view the things happening in the world today and the threat posed to the liberty and freedom of the LGBTQ community to just be themselves without having to put up with hatred, bigotry and ignorance, is very troubling indeed. In my case I come from an ethnic group where being part of the LGBTQ community is already looked down upon, so largely being in the closet for reasons of safety and fear of non acceptance has always been difficult to contend with..

Living outside of your comfort zone definitely makes you a more well rounded person, so I’d encourage anyone that struggles with mindset to just take a deep breath and do it anyway, life’s too short!! ▶ Why do you like crossdressing: It’s hard to say why I do this. It started when I was 16. Now I’m 40, and I decided it wouldn’t be a good idea to hide it. I decided to do it and show that I can look good as a woman. I like being treated like a WOMAN, and I like my feminine look. It’s a very pleasant way to unwind, like a hobby.

▶ Where do you buy your clothes/makeup/shoes from: I shop from good fashion brands and thrift stores, and I also like making my own clothes. DIY fashion is the best! I try to stay away from fast fashion brands like Shein or Temu.

▶ How long does it take you to to do your make-up and get ready: It depends. If I’m going for something simple, like a soft, delicate look, it’s around 5-20 minutes. But if I’m doing something more artistic or dramatic, it can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. styling hair takes a long time too especially wigs for cosplay, sometimes they take weeks to style.



▶ What are the challenges you have faced as a crossdresser: The biggest challenge is definitely dealing with homophobia and transphobia. Poland can be a tough place when it comes to accepting people who don’t fit the norm. It’s hard, but I’m determined to keep doing what I love no matter what.
